Fluid Cafe
Fluid is a completely free coffee house style Christian fellowship that is open to all ages.
Food, drinks, and admission are all available on a "donations accepted" basis.
Fluid Café has been held on a trial run basis in a number of different churches as a Friday night music event and fellowship. Having compared the original intent of Fluid with experience gained, we have concluded that it is in our best interest to secure a non-church venue.

Initially launched as a part of Common Ground Community Church in Portsmouth, Virginia, Fluid is a concept that goes well beyond a simple music venue. Our larger vision is to incorporate all aspects of ministry in locations outside of a physical church building. The target audience for the Fluid Cafe mission is not simply the high school youth group. All ages are in fact welcome, because we do recognize that plenty people over the age of 18 still enjoy music!

Worship night @ Fluid Cafe

The music at Fluid Cafe is as diverse as it's people. From contemporary worship to heavy metal, hip hop to punk rock, we have hosted a wide variety of musicians. Our guests are of course encouraged to request their favorite local or traveling indie bands; if we can accommodate, we will! Touring bands that have blessed us with their talents have included the Ross Wright Band, Judah First, We Against and Sam's the Hero.
A popular night that is also a change in the norm is our open mic. Open to singers, poets, and even full bands, the Fluid Cafe open Mic is about as laid back as it gets! This is the perfect chance for the amateur performer to get up on stage with no worries or judgment. Our guests are often times surprised that someone they know personally has a hidden talent up their sleeve!

At Fluid Cafe, we also feature a number of creative worship stations. Guests may express their love for the Creator through paint, drawing, journal writing, and more.
